Coyotes select Noel Nordh with 72 pick

After drafting a defenseman with the sixth pick and a goaltender to start the second round, the Arizona Coyotes have gone heavy on fowards. With their second pick of the third round the Coyotes drafted Swedish winger Noel Nordh.

Nordh spent last season overseas, and has generated offense in all leagues. He played 38 games with Brynäs IF J20 in the J20 Nationell league and finished with 13 goals and 14 assists.

But Nordh’s biggest claim to fame was the Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he played for Team Sweden. He scored three goals in five games helping lead Sweden to win a silver medal at the tournament.

Like many European players, it is unclear when and if Nordh will make his North American debut. He is set to return to Sweden next year where he will have the chance to continue developing where he is most comfortable.
