The worst kept secret in the Valley is out, and the Arizona Coyotes will be going full-time Kachina jersey next season.

This morning, the Coyotes revealed that in addition to the black Kachina jersey worn at home games, the team would be wearing the white Kachina jersey on the road.

Now because this is the Arizona Coyotes, it isn’t going to be that simple. Craig Morgan of PHNX reported that the Coyotes will still wear their red howling coyote head jersey for eight games during the regular season.

Most fans came to expect the move, which was all but confirmed last night when it was discovered that the teaser video was on the Coyotes website.

This move makes a lot of sense for the Arizona Coyotes. The black Kachina has become very popular with fans since being brought that, and it seemed inevitable that they would eventually announce the white road jersey.

The team has embraced the classic logo, utilizing it at the NHL Entry Draft and the Seattle Expansion Draft, and the fan reaction was largely positive. We even talked about it back in June, noting a Twitter poll which at the time had the Kachina logo with a 3 to 1 lead over the howling coyote head logo. So now the Coyotes just need to announce they have made their purple reverse retro jerseys their third jersey, and we will be set. Oh wait.
