Pederson originally signed with the Coyotes as a free agent and has spent most of his career in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners. His first pro season was 2017-18, and in 63 games with the Roadrunners he had 12 goals and 14 assists.
In 183 games with the Roadrunners, he had 58 goals and 66 assists. Last season, the Roadrunners also gave him an "A", the third time in his playing career he has worn one.
Pederson made his NHL debut with the Coyotes last season. In 15 games with the Desert Dogs, he had a goal and 2 assists.
It is unknown if Pederson will play for the Sharks or their AHL affiliate the San Jose Barracuda. He proved to be a leader with the Roadrunners, and could serve a similar role with Barracuda if he gets cut from training camp.
