The Coyotes selected Ilya Fedotov from the Chaika Nizhny Novgorod out of the Russian MHL league with the 43rd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

According to the The Hockey Writers Fedotov is “an offensive first forward” with “one of the best shots in the draft, and his scoring acumen is second to none for players at his skill level.”

Some may consider this pick off the board as he was ranked somewhat lower but the NHL draft guru Bob McKenzie pointed out that consolidated rankings are difficult in this pandemic plagued year.

Regardless it’s no secret that the Coyotes need scoring and that is something Fedotov is known to do.

Watch for yourself.
