The Arizona Coyotes' preseason has been reduced to 29 players, with the reassignment of six players today.

Jan Jeník, Ivan Prosvetov, Vladislav Kolyachonok, Janis Moser have been reassigned to the Tucson Roadrunners. In addition, Michael Carcone has been placed on waivers to be reassigned to the Roadrunners, and Anson Thornton will be headed back to the Sarnia Sting.

Jan Jeník will be returning to the Tucson Roadrunners after playing 29 games with them last season. Janík was drafted 65th overall at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and will likely require more time before he is ready to be a full-time NHL player. But he had two goals in two games last season and brought a physical edge to the Coyotes during the preseason. Jeník had an assist in three preseason games.

Ivan Prosvetov is the Coyotes’ top goaltending prospect, and it is no surprise to see him reassigned to the Roadrunners, where he can get consistent starts. Prosvetov played in two preseason games, including yesterday’s Kraft Hockeyville game in El Paso.

Vladislav Kolyachonok was acquired by the Coyotes back in July along with Anton Strålman and a 2024 second-round pick. He was held pointless through two preseason games.

Janis Jérôme Moser played in his first preseason since being drafted 60th overall by the Coyotes at this year’s NHL Entry Draft. Moser was held pointless through two preseason games.

Michael Carcone was loaned to the Tucson Roadrunners last season, where he scored 15 goals and 10 assists in 35 games before signing a two-year deal with the Coyotes. Carcone was held pointless in two preseason games.

Anson Thornton was an unsigned invitee to the Coyotes’ camp and goaltender for the final period in the Coyotes’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings. He stopped 17 shots, helping backstop the Coyotes to a 2-1 win.
