Report: Coyotes to allow 3,450 fans

The Coyotes will allow a limited amount of fans for their opening game against the San Jose Sharks.

NHL: APR 08 Wild at Coyotes

When it comes to how the NHL is dealing with Covid-19, nothing is official until it is official. The Arizona Coyotes had previously hinted that they would be allowing fans when fans return, and we are getting more details.

The Coyotes will be opening their season against the Scottsdale Sharks on January 14th, and it looks like some fans will get a chance to see this.

With a max of 3,450 fans, the arena will be far from full. For many fans, this will be the first season-opener that they have missed in years.

It remains to be seen if things will change regarding seating. Arizona is currently experiencing a large number of cases and deaths which could potentially cause a change. But the vaccine is currently being distributed, and if that rollout is successful we may see those numbers go up in the next few months.

Are you excited about the announcement? Do you hope to be at the opening game? Comment below.
