Over this past weekend, the Arizona Coyotes fanbase was hit with some terrible news, long-time beat writer Craig Morgan was laid off from his job with The Athletic.
Craig Morgan is THE source for any Coyotes news and even casual Coyotes fans should be reading him as much as they can. Even if you only read Five For Howling you would still get a healthy dose of Craig Morgan as we often link to his articles and showcase his tweets because he is the best source for Coyotes related news.

I am deely saddened to report that I was one of The Athletic's layoffs today. My heart goes out to all of my colleagues (many of them dear friends) also laid off. It has been a privilege to work at a great company alongside such talented reporters, writers & people.
What I liked best about The Athletic was that for a nominal fee you got access to some of the best writers in sports. Craig Morgan signing on with The Athletic was one of the biggest reasons why I got a subscription, and I imagine the same is true for a lot of other fans.
Subscription websites have been getting more and more popular for internet websites to provide a quality product while not having to depend on unreliable advertising revenue. And so we have to ask fans, would you pay for a subscription to a Craig Morgan news site?
