The Coyotes drafted the 6’3” Greely, Ontario native in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft 82nd overall. Since being drafted he has been playing for Boston University and was named an alternate captain for the first time this past season.
Crotty is a more defensive defenseman, in his three seasons in the NCAA he has 10 total goals and 27 assists. He has been making a name for himself as a good two-way player and a leader with BU.
With Crotty, the Coyotes have continued to secure up their defensive prospects. Kevin Bahl was probably the biggest internal competitor, and with him being sent to New Jersey as part of the Taylor Hall trade there is a better chance we will be seeing Crotty suit up for the Desert Dogs.
