The Arizona Coyotes have done some really good things during the present coronavirus pandemic, including donating food to the needy and CEO Ahron Cohen and John Chayka donating part of their salaries to non-profits.
Unfortunately, it’s not all good news as today it was announced that the organization will be furloughing 50 of the organization’s employees.
A Statement from the Arizona Coyotes:https://t.co/4Cbji2IF3M— Arizona Coyotes (@ArizonaCoyotes) April 10, 2020
The only silver lining in the statement is that the Coyotes will continue 100% of health benefits for the affected employees. The absolute worst thing that the organization could do is eliminate health benefits for their employees during a global pandemic.
The furlough is currently set to last from today through June 30th. Depending on what happens in the coming months that could be extended. The Coyotes had previously announced that they would support their employees for the rest of the regular season which ended on April 4th.
This is a new story and we will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
