As the 2020 World Junior Championship comes to an end we are getting to the most important games. The games are more important, teams are getting eliminated, and you get a better idea of who the coaches trust.

Victor Soderstrom had the ultimate individual moment for a hockey player. In Sweden’s 5-0 win over the Czech Republic Soderstrom scored on a penalty shot. In addition to the penalty shot, he comfortably led his time with 21:01 minutes played.

Team Canada had another big game against Slovakia and for their captain Barrett Hayton. Hayton opened up the scoring for Canada and had two goals and an assist and he was second among forwards in time on ice. Barrett Hayton is having the type of tournament that the Coyotes want him to have, and he is showing what a dominant player he can be.

In one of the closest closet matchups of the tournament, three Coyotes were involved in Finland’s 1-0 win against the USA. Matias Maccelli and Aku Raty played for Team Finland and were held pointless as was defenseman Ty Emberson for Team USA.

Valentin Nussbaumer was held pointless in Switzerland’s 3-1 loss to Russia. He was second in time on ice on his team behind only defenseman Janis Moser. Switzerland was outplayed in that game and held to only 15 shots compared to Russia’s 36.
