Jenik (great camp!) to his junior team, Hamilton - OHL.
As we get closer to the start of the regular season the cuts should be far more familiar. The first few rounds often see camp invites and fringe prospects being cut, but we are starting to see players who have a very real chance of making the NHL in the next few seasons.
Of the players cut today Tyler Steenbergen and Ivan Prosvetov suited up last night, with Prosvetov acting as Darcy Kuemper’s backup.
There aren’t any surprises with these cuts, with all of these players expected to at least start in the AHL this season. Jan Jenik may be the biggest surprise, not because he was sent down but because of how much positive attention he has earned with his play.
Did any of these reassignments surprise you? Who do you think will get cut next? Are there any prospects you are going to pay more attention to this season? Feel free to comment below.
