Martin, who initially went undrafted, spent much of his juniors career played for the Kootenay Ice. In 2015 he would be traded to the Swift Current Broncos, a team he would captain, which saw him finish with a career high 38 goals and 31 assists.
As his time in the WHL drew to a close, Martin would sign a three-year, entry level contract with the San Jose Sharks. So far Martin has spent most of his professional career playing with the San Jose Barracuda, although he also spent 7 games in the ECHL with the Allen Americans.
While the Arizona Coyotes don’t have a lot of depth on the right side, Martin isn’t too likely to challenge for an NHL roster spot this season. But if Arizona ends up bringing up a prospect like Nick Merkley, Martin will get an opportunity to move up the roster and keep Tuscon competitive.
