Coyotes sign two-year affiliate deal with Rapid City Rush

The Rush will be the Coyotes’ affiliate again.

The Rapid City Rush are the Arizona Coyotes ECHL affiliate again.

The Coyotes had previously been affiliated with the Rush during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. During both of those seasons the Rush did not qualify for the playoffs.

Although most players in the NHL haven’t played in the ECHL, a few players in the Coyotes organization will likely spend some time with the Rush over the next two seasons. A big one is likely Ivan Prosvetov, a goaltender who was extremely successful in his last year in juniors.

Since being affiliated with the Coyotes the Rush would spend a season affiliated with the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, and a year without an affiliate. They have also had an ownership shakeup with Jeff Dickerson and T.J. Puchyr joining majority owner Scott Mueller.

The Coyotes on the other hand would be affiliated with first the Fort Wayne Komets and the Norfolk Admirals.
