NHL: NHL Draft Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver, BC

When: 10:00 am, Arizona Time

Where: NBCSN, NHL Network

Yesterday the Arizona Coyotes and General Manager John Chayka went off script and traded up to the 11th pick and drafted Swedish defenseman Victor Soderstrom. Soderstrom is a right-handed defenseman playing with Brynas IF, and while he doesn’t address the Coyotes scoring issues he may have been the best player available.

In order to acquire the 11th pick the Coyotes traded their original 14th pick as well as the 45th pick. GM Chayka has a history of trading second-round picks so it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.

Feel free to comment about anything that happens before, during or after the draft.

Coyotes Picks Today:

Third-Round - 74, 76

Fourth-Round - 107

Fifth-Round - N/A

Sixth-Round - 174, 176
