Tucson Roadrunners Game #1 - Tucson 2 Texas Stars 0

The Tucson Roadrunners opened their season on the road against the Texas Stars with a familiar Coyote in Net, Antti Raanta started in Goal for the Roadrunners tonight on a conditioning stint. During the Tucson Radio broadcast it was mentioned that he will be re-evaluated tonight, after the game, to see if there is more needed.

Roadrunners scored first 3:20 into the game, as Brayden Burke scored on the Power play, assisted by Nick Merkley and Aaron Ness. Going back and forth there was no scoring until the Roadrunners made it 2-0 on a 4th line goal from Jon Martin assisted by Jeremy Gregoire at 12:27 in the second. That would actually close out the scoring of the game.

Tucson won the shot battle every period, out shooting the Stars 28-19 on the night.

Tucson's Power Play went 1-4 while they killed off all 4 shorthanded situations.

Raanta made all 19 saves for the shutout tonight making Tucson 1-0-0-0 on the Season.

Their next game is Sunday in San Antonio at 1pm Arizona time.

(Personal note: I'm not the greatest at this, I'd like to know if I should continue these, and if FFH wants me to, please let me know in the comments!)
