One hockey historian is using her platform to make a difference: Jen Conway, known on Twitter as @NHLhistorygirl, is running a tweetathon campaign to assist in disaster relief efforts.
The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Mexico have all been hit by major disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes. These areas aren’t getting nearly the same amount of support as Florida and Texas have.
All participants have to do is make a donation to a disaster relief assistance charity and send proof of that donation to @NHLhistorygirl before 4 pm AZ time this Friday. In exchange, Jen will provide a full week of hockey history for the team of their choice. Participants must include their preferred team in the proof of donation tweet.
Any donation made this month to Puerto Rico, US Virgin Island or Mexico disaster relief, tweet me a screenshot with your team vote. https://t.co/gVTL1tKKTh

She is also keeping a tally of all the teams being represented by their fans and which teams are in the lead. As of this writing the Washington Capitals are leading the race with the Chicago Blackhawks close behind.
Fantastic generosity happening!

Caps fans, your lead is in danger. Blackhawks 1 vote behind you. Waiting for 12 teams to get on the board. https://t.co/tADqm7k8xl
Wouldn’t it be great to get a whole week of hockey history dedicated to just the Coyotes? If you agree donate and let Jen know!
