Meet The Writers: The Newest Additions to the Five For Howling Family

The FFH Family brought in three new writers and we are excited for you to get to know them.

We are still expanding our crew of writers, looking for Roadrunners and Komets contributors, but we are excited to bring on a stats/systems writer, an editorial/commentary writer, and a vlogger who will help bring new, fresh content to the site!

First, we would like to introduce Julia Turner, our new editorial/commentary writer! You can follow her on twitter at @jmtleaf.

I was born and raised in the Midlands in the UK, before moving to Wales for university. I came to hockey quite late, having been dragged into the sport by a few friends, initially via the Chicago Blackhawks. Eventually on to the Arizona Coyotes via the Penguins and the Blue Jackets and haven’t looked back since!

I’m planning to eventually cross the pond and finally attend an Arizona Coyotes game. In the meantime, I am studying for a Masters in History, watching as much hockey as I can, and occasionally doing a bit of art.

Next up we would like to introduce you to Matthew Hendriques, our resident vlogger, and another stats guy!

How does Auston Matthews look in blue and white? Was that too quick? It’s alright, the Coyotes are building something special too.

I’m Matthew Henriques, and I’m primarily a Leafs fan, but over the last year I’ve branched out to be a fan of specific players and teams with good underlying numbers. It’s why I’ve grown my YouTube channel to 445 subscribers (it’s a work in progress), and I’m here to share my analysis with you by embedding the videos in articles. Max Domi, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Christian Dvorak are just a few of the players I look out for, and now with some promising acquisitions this summer, the Coyotes are going to be a lot more fun to watch. You can follow me on Twitter @MattJLHenriques and check out my YouTube channel.

Lastly, we are very excited to introduce you to someone I have followed on twitter for a very long time. I’ll let him introduce himself. He will be heading up our stats/analytics/systems posts.

My name is Corey Sznajder and I've been blogging about hockey for seven years. I spent most of my time running the Carolina Hurricanes blog, Shutdown Line, and during my time there, I got heavily involved in the analytical side of the game. I tracked stats such as zone entries, scoring chances, and zone exits for their games and wrote a lot of posts breaking down their style of play and how they could fix certain problems.

I've gotten more involved with tracking statistics and doing other analytical work over the past couple years and spent the 2015 & 2016 seasons working privately for an NHL team. Last year, I did more public stat tracking through a subscription-based service and will continue that this year while doing more writing. I love hockey and my favorite thing is to analyze the game with other fans, so I'm very excited to be part of the Five For Howling staff and dig deep into the Coyotes this season.

You can follow Corey at @ShutdownLine on twitter.

Please welcome our new writers down below!
