The Coyotes sign another depth forward to deepen their pool for the 2017-18 season

NHL: Los Angeles Kings at Washington Capitals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Coyotes announced on Tuesday that they have signed forward Michael Latta to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2017-18 season.

Latta is 26-year-old forward who can play both center and wing. Originally drafted in the third round of the 2009 NHL entry draft by the Nashville Predators, Latta has spent the last two seasons between the AHL and NHL of various clubs, most recently the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks organizations.

While Latta’s stats may not be a shining endorsement, he’s another forward that can fill a depth role, whether he’s a 4th line veteran for the NHL club or a top-6 vet presence down with the kids in Tucson. He brings a level of physically and loyalty to his teammates that will be useful on a young Coyotes team. We’ll go more in-depth in Latta’s career in his “Meet the New Guy” article.

Welcome to the Pack, Latts!
