With the Coyotes season ending last night, there is a lot to be done within the organization and here at Five For Howling as well.
Shane Doan’s Last Game?
Last night was an emotional one for Shane Doan, the Coyotes Organization and their fans. He recorded an assist on the lone goal for the Coyotes. If last night was it, we know that he will still be around the team. Shane Doan means so much to the Coyotes and their fans that no one will ever forget last night, if they were watching on TV or in the crowd.

I think Todd Walsh put it best in this piece.

Oh Captain, Our Captain.
If this is where the story ends, what a book it's been.

If there’s another chapter left, we look forward to being a part of it. pic.twitter.com/vzFx1WDQ31
Zbynek Michalek’s Last Ride?
Lost in the pageantry of Shane Doan’s possible last game, was Zbynek Michalek’s night. He too may have played his last night in professional hockey. He was emotional in every interview and with good reason. His season did not start out as planned, but he made the best of it in Tucson and ended with the Coyotes. Be on the look out for a piece this week about Michalek from Taylor Clark.

#CunnyDid
Craig Cunningham’s story has been near a miracle since he collapsed on November 19th, 2016. In mid-March he was starting to walk with his prosthetic. At the start of April he skated with help of his therapist and Conor Garland in Tucson. Yesterday, he skated without assistance under the watchful eye of the Coyotes training staff. He also dropped the puck before the game.

He spoke to Todd Walsh about his possible future with the team during first intermission.

Seeing Cunningham last night was just the start of a very emotional night.
New Management
Just to remind everyone, Brendan Porter’s last post as Managing Editor was the game recap last night. We will miss him greatly and wish him luck with his on going law school education. Keep an eye out tomorrow for a post from a new writer, a post for hiring writers and thoughts on getaway day.
