Dylan Strome and Christian Dvorak have been lighting up the OHL all year. The two future Arizona Coyotes centers both have 18 playoff points on top of 111 and 121 regular season points, respectively.
But now the two CHL stars will face off against their biggest challenge yet: each other.
Strome's Erie Otters will take on Dvorak's London Knights in the OHL's Western Conference Finals in a best-of-seven series beginning Wednesday night, for the chance to play for a trip to the Memorial Cup in Red Deer, Alberta at the end of the month.
The London Knights overcame a feisty Owen Sound Attack squad in six games, before bulldozing Ryan MacInnis and the Kitchener Rangers in a four game sweep. Dvorak has been getting help from two players who may be on Arizona's radar this year: Matthew Tkachuk on the wing and Olli Juolevi on defense.
Meanwhile, the Erie Otters have been cruising through the postseason thus far, with a 4-0 sweep of the Saginaw Spirit and a 4-1 series victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Forward Alex DeBrincat and the Brothers Raddysh (Taylor up front and Darren on defense) should be on more than a few draft lists this summer too.
Regardless of who wins, there will be yet another Arizona presence to deal with before either Strome or Dvorak can reach the Memorial Cup. Brendan Perlini's Niagara IceDogs face off against the Barrie Colts, who are coached by franchise legend Dale Hawerchuk.
Both players are great competitors and incredibly talented. It should be a fun show in Ontario.
Strome (18 playoff pts) vs Dvorak (18 playoff pts) in the OHL semis. Let's raise the stakes - winner gets a roster spot next year? #Coyotes

They probably wouldn't have it any other way.
