Game Summary
First Period
No scoring but a lot of back and forth action. The Coyotes outshot the Penguins. The game started to get chippy because Mike Smith was knocked into the net. This is the theme of the evening.
Second Period
AZ Goal @ 5:00: Tobias Rieder from Anthony Duclair and Martin Hanzal
PITT Goal @ 5:17: Phil Kessel Unassisted.
AZ Goal @ 7:29: Jordan Martinook from Steve Downie and Boyd Gordon.
In the second period the tension rose and the dumb penalties did start to take hold.
Third Period
Mike Smith decided to slam the door shut and rob a few Penguins. The game could have gotten out of hand with penalties and such but nothing came from it.
All in all it was a very solid game for the Coyotes.
