Arizona Coyotes announce start of training camp schedule

The team will hit the ice next month.

The long wait for hockey season is almost over.

On Monday, the Arizona Coyotes announced the starting dates for rookie camp and training camp, which will take place next month. Coyotes fans will get the first opportunity to see highly-touted first round draft pick Brendan Perlini, as well as veteran acquisitions Sam Gagner, Joe Vitale and B.J. Crombeen.

Rookies report to camp on Friday, Sept. 12 with their first on-ice session taking place the following afternoon at 1:45 p.m. Regular training camp begins on Thursday, Sept. 18 with media day, physicals, etc. The first on-ice session for Coyotes veterans is scheduled for 9 a.m. the following morning (19th).

All on-ice practices will take place at soon-to-be-named Gila River Arena and are free and open to the public. The team asks fans to enter the arena through Gate 3 (security entrance).

A full schedule of all training camp events will be released at a future date.
