Yesterday, the Arizona Coyotes announced that former Coyote Nick Boynton has been hired as the team's radio color analyst.  In addition to spending the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons with the Coyotes, Boynton also played with the Boston BruinsFlorida PanthersAnaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers.

Initially drafted ninth overall in 1997 Entry Level Draft by the Washington Capitals, Boynton was unable to reach a contract agreement with Washington, so he was drafted again two years later by the Bruins.  He spent his first five years playing with the Bruins, and a one year stint with the EIHL Nottingham Panthers during the 04-05 lockout, before he was traded to the Coyotes for defenseman Paul Mara.

The Coyotes eventually traded him at the 2008 Entry Level Draft along with Keith Ballard and a second round pick to Florida for Olli Jokinen.  Strangely enough, both he and Coyotes TV Color Analyst Tyson Nash played for the organization at the same time, although Nash was playing with the teams then-AHL affiliate San Antonio Rampage.

Boynton ultimately played 605 NHL games and finished with 34 goals, 110 assists and 862 penalty minutes. He will join long time radio play-by-play commentator Bob Heethuis on the air.
