The Portland Pirates announced Friday the three exhibition games to be played before the official start of the 2013-2014 American Hockey League season.

The Pirates will play perennial Canadian college hockey power University of New Brunswick Wednesday, September 25 at 1 p.m. at the OA Performance Center in Saco, Maine.

Portland will play its second exhibition game against the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday, September 28 at 3 p.m. at the new facility in Saco. The team's final exhibition game will also be against the Monarchs, but this time at the Sullivan Arena on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. The Monarchs are the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.

The Pirates, the AHL affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes, will play the first several home games of the season at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine due to ongoing construction at the team's usual home in Portland. The Cumberland County Civic Center in downtown Portland is being renovated this summer and into the fall.
