Phoenix Coyotes Sign 2012 1st Round Pick Henrik Samuelsson

The Coyotes signed Samuelsson to a three year entry level deal.

The Phoenix Coyotes have announced they have signed their first round pick in last year's NHL Entry Draft, Scottsdale native Henrik Samuelsson to a a three year entry level contract. The nineteen year old winger is the son of former NHL defenseman, former Coyotes assistant coach, and current coach of famed Swedish club Modo, Ulf Samuelsson. The younger Samuelsson is currently playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Western Hockey League (WHL) after playing briefly for his father last season at Modo.The Oil Kings are currently atop their conference thanks in no small part to Coyotes draftee's play this season.

The 6' 3" forward has potted 32 goals and has 47 assists so far this season in the 67 game he has played. He currently ranks third on his team and eighteenth in the WHL in points (79). He also has 95 penalty minutes as well. His reputation as tough power forward going into the draft certainly has not changed this year
