Countdown To Coyotes Preseason: 13 Days

With 13 days left until the preseason starts or not, we take a look at a number which splits the populace. 13 has traditionally been seen as an unlucky number, however over time the non-superstitious among us have begun to wear and/or use the number as a sort of badge of honor. Since we are looking at the number in terms of the Phoenix Coyotes we are going to take the latter tact.

Six players in franchise history have scored 13 goals during their time with the Jets/Coyotes franchise. One of them, winger Larry Hopkins, scored all 13 of his goals during his brief 60 game NHL career when the franchise was located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The other 5 players all scored their goals since the franchise moved to Arizona. Four of them were forwards like Hopkins. Those players were Eric Belanger, Mike Sullivan, Brad Isbister, and Tony Amonte. The lone defensemen among the six was recently departed defensemen Adrian Aucoin.
