The Coyotes start a big five game roadtrip later tonight against the Nashville Predators. With the Coyotes currently leading the Pacific and having won 6 in row, they'll be tested against the West's fourth place team. Especially after losing defenseman Ed Jovanovski for at least a few weeks after he fractured and orbital bone. In his place the Coyotes have called up Nolan Yonkman just in case Adrian Aucoin can't go after he sat out on Thursday with a lower body injury. To make room the Coyotes sent center Kyle Turris down to San Antonio temporarily though he's expected to rejoin the team soon.
The Predators are on their own little streak having gotten points in each of their last four games with a 3-0-1 record. On Thursday they took down the league leading Canucks 3-1 in Nashville. The Canucks didn't play their strongest game, but Nashville capitalized on their chances. Mike Fisher scored his first goal for the Preds since his trade from Ottawa. The Preds have been streaky as of late though as they've gone 4-4-2 over their last ten despite the 4 game point streak.
The Bullets
- Ilya Bryzgalov is 6-0-0 over the last 6 with a 1.48 GAA
- The Predators have won 2 of the 3 meetings between the teams this year.
- The Predators have outscored the Coyotes 9-4 in the first 2 periods of those 3 games.
- Shane Doan scored his first goal in quite some time against the Thrashers. One can only hope it's the start of a nice streak for the Captain.
