As I sit here watching the NFL Playoffs waiting for our hockey game to get underway, I can't help but think of just how much cooler The Stanley Cup is than the Lombardi Trophy. FIrst, there is only one Stanley Cup, just one. Not... what are we up to... 40 something of them? They're very shiny and all, but can you drink out of it? Nope. Does it have its own attendant that carries it around making sure it stays nice and clean? Sure doesn't. Do the players that win the Super Bowl get to spend the day with the Shiny football trophy? I'm sure they could if they asked, but why would they want to? You can't even use it as a mirror, its all curved as would give you a distorted picture. The Cup is so functional. Cereal Bowl? No problem. Baptismal? It's got you covered. Something to put your freshly caught fish in? It's there for you. Basically NFL, we're better than you. But will that keep me from writing a football key inspired gameday? No. Especally since we'll likely be down a few fans as the Cards play at 5:30... Maybe I can trick a few into coming to the game.

Keys to the game that may or may not make sense... like choosing NFL over NHL...

Disrupt the Passing Game: Get in the passng lanes and create the turnovers. Also get to the quarterback Goalie. If you can get them to cough up the puck a few times and get on the break you should do well. Dallas is 8th in Giveaways in the league. Phoenix, surprisingly is 29th.

Take Advantage of the Mobile Quarterback Goalie: Marty Turco, as we all know likes to get a little adventurous with the puck handling. Let's make him pay at least once for going too far and throw him off of his game.

Make Big Tackles Hits: Forechecking is huge. Let's set the tone early and often. Get the Stars seeing stars and this game is yours.

Contain the Defensive Line: Keep up the work that you did last game and keep te puck in the zone. You guys did a sloid job getting to pucks before they could squeak out, and it's made the Power Play look a lot better.

Injury Reports:

Hasn't updated on the fun graphic thing, but Viktor Tikhonov is week-to-week with a broken hand and Ken Klee is Day-to-Day with a leg injury.
