The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Job tonight to face the Phoenix Coyotes in a battle of a die-hard hockey town and some city in Canada ;-) Toronto is coming off a beat down at the hands of the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. The Leafs basically got outplayed for the first half of the game, giving up 4 goals in the first period. They would get two of those goals back With tallies by Nikolai Kulemin and Niklas Hagman but also got beaten shorthanded by Joe Pavelski to lose 5-2. See the earlier post for information about some of the rookies to watch. As of right now it looks like Toskala will get the start in net for the Leafs. Tosk was also in goal for the San Jose game. In the two teams last meeting the Coyotes won 5-1 at home.
For the Coyotes, Mikael Tellqvist gets the nod again after another solid outing against the LA Kings. Tellqvist will be going up against his former team which gave him up a couple years back for current Coyotes radio guy Tyson Nash. Good deal! Look for Enver lisin to come out strong after a big game on Tuesday. Hopefully we can get him on the ice with Morris again because that pass and goal was sweet.
Other players to watch:
I'm going to go with Keith Yandle as he has really improved his defensive game and keeps getting the assists after getting the puck towards the net. At some point one of those has to get past the opposition goalie.
Also, Mikkel Boedker has been playing well, but only has 1 assist in the last 5 games to show for it. I think he'll find the back of the net one way or another tonight.
