Coyotes Tracks - June 22, 2012 - Down To Business

This could wind up being a rather momentous weekend for the short term and long term future of the Phoenix Coyotes roster. The Yotes have nine picks in this year's draft, a number of veteran unrestricted free agents, as well as the ownership uncertainty which likely continuing to have an effect on GM Don Maloney's ability to attract top flight free agents. With all of those factors in play it would not be surprising to see the team make a deal or two before the weekend is over. Maloney's own comments over the past week certainly add fuel to the fire.

If you are looking for a story to follow not actually involving the Coyotes picks you might want to follow where former Coyotes assistant coach Ulf Samuelsson's son, Henrik, gets selected. He's expected to be a late first round or 2nd round round pick.

Today's links include a Yandle trade rumor, Shane Doan's frustration over the ownership drama not being over, and a link to Dirk Hoag's must bookmark super schedule post for next season. In light of the seriousness of Draft Weekend there will be no Final Howl today.
