Coyotes Tracks - January 6, 2012 - Royal Pains

The Phoenix Coyotes couldn't find a doctor like Hank Lawson to help them last night. They put up a valiant effort but lost 1-0 in overtime to the Los Angeles Kings late last evening. In a hard fought game characterized by outstanding goaltending from Jonathan Quick and Mike Smith it took overtime to decide matters. Unfortunately for the Desert Dogs it was Drew Doughty with an assist from the officials who made the decision.

In today's Tracks we've got post game reaction, plus recaps from the medal round at the WJC, other games involving Pacific division teams, and more.

Royal Pains reference...

I like.

If only we could the equivalent of HankMed to fix our power play woes. One of the interesting things from my Twitter conversation with Helene Elliott last night was her thoughts that the Kings pp was only really good when Tippett was an assistant there and in charge of it. Clearly it’s not working as well here unfortunately.

Main problem to be me is still skill level. Though as we have discussed before, a big body in front consistently doesn’t hurt either.
