The Carnival was a blast
but the writeup with ‘loyal’ fans in the the title just pisses me off. Couldn’t have made the Coyotes Charities the winner with a big title instead of an afterthought mention but have to poke an already touchy fanbase with crap like that. No wonder i can’t stand the Republic.

Agree, agree, agree.
At first I thought the quotes were a typo by Carl, but I checked the Republic page too. Seriously, what is their problem with this team? We’re better than their prized Suns…

On the Visiting the Enemy Article
There is definitely some issues with ticket pricing in the lower bowl, I imagine if they lower the prices they can probably sell out. I laughed at the not being able to see grass, I’m always surprised when people go to a desert and talk about how there isn’t any grass.
The thing I liked the most about that article was Gabe’s conclusion on hockey’s prospects in the desert. It’s not that we hate the sport, it’s that we hate where the arena is.

I don’t really believe that having the arena so far from the airport is what hurts attendance. I think better marketing could bring in more people than the fans that refuse to drive on the freeway to get to a game.
AN outsider wouldn’t be able to judge the (lack of) marketing here in an overnight visit since the main time you see hockey commercials are during the game.
