Coyotes Tracks - August 12, 2011 - Another Bid Coming?
Late yesterday afternoon reports emerged, via Roc & Manuch at KDUS and Mike Sunnucks from the Phoenix Business Journal, that a new ownership group interested in buying the Coyotes might be putting a bid in for the team soon. In other Coyotes news, Connor Murphy is hurt again.
Also, today's general hockey links have a Desert Dog flavor to them. Enjoy.

Hmm...
Canadian group, an out clause. If it’s even real, a good question to ask in this mess, you have to hope it’s not just some Canadian nationalist that will purposely starve the team to make it fail and move the team, “back where hockey belongs”.
God! I’ve become cynical in the last 3 years!

knowing Bettman.....
He will do whatever it takes to not let another American team leave the US. my top three markets:
1.Quebec City(If they can get the whole arena deal sorted out)
2. Hamilton(sky rocketing up the charts, even though the it would cause conflict with other fan bases the fan base really is something similar to Winnipegs)
3. Kansas City( knowing Bettman he would prefer another “Southern” market, KC has another pre season game with the Penguins vs Kings at the Sprint center. If people flock to the game I can see and owner stepping up or maybe Reinsdorf could move the coyotes to KC since he knew Lamar Hunt.)
It's going to be on Glendale's shoulders...
I think the biggest concern is whether or not the COG will have a spine this time. I have massive doubts that Goldwater will not be involved in this in some way (it’s still $40-50 million in bonds). Plus, the City Council already wanted to shy away from an out-clause the first time Reinsdorf rolled around. Hopefully the past couple of years of limbo will get them to come around a little, but if both of these are in play I have a very hard time imagining that this will actually succeed. I’m with you Rob, I’m pretty darn cynical too.
