Who do you want to face in Rd. 1?

Well, that Kings game last night was rather disappointing. A chance to clinch will have to wait.  Anyone notice that Jarret Stoll's shootout goal looked a lot like a certain 'Closer' from last year? Nothing special, just a hard wrister into the top corner on the glove side. Look familiar to anyone else?

Over the past few months, the coyotes have been making a playoff push in the ultra tight Western Conference. Much to my dismay, there is the possibility, that just like me, there may be no playoffs for the Yotes this year. Already I've had to deal with losing a well paying job, come to terms with not being able to renew my season tickets, not being able to afford to get playoff tickets, so this would just be icing on that cake.

But, unlike my financial state and job search, there is a bright side. The coyotes can still make the playoffs. Now I know the question has been asked before, but with the post-season a few games away and nothing really set yet,  I would like to know who you want the coyotes to play in Round 1?

As much as I don't like them, I would love for a Red Wings rematch. See if Jimmy Howard still thinks the Coyotes are lucky, rather than admit he just got beat.  A matchup with the Kings would also be preferrable due to the minimal travel involved, but the rest you get from that works both ways. You tell me.. Who should the Yotes play in round 1?

in a long series the loss of kopitar and williams is too much for them to overcome

ABSJ

Anyone But San Jose
But in all reality I have a feeling it is going to be Nashville. Which would be a long, grueling, brutal battle. Second best guess would be L.A which would be much more favorable. Regardless, I hope the Yotes make it into the playoffs and don’t land a Sharks matchup. Of course these next two games will hopefully show the Yotes are good fishers.

…be careful what you wish for. You may just get it.

It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.

At the time of this comment, I believe there is no way that we face either Chicago or Dallas in round 1, leaving the options as Detroit, LA, Anaheim, Nashville, or San Jose.

San Jose – our win last night withstanding, I least want to play SJ. At least in the 1st round. Playing them tired in another round would be ideal.

Anaheim – they are red hot right now, and the last thing that you want to play is a hot team. We do match up decently against the Ducks though.

Nashville – this series would have 7 games written all over it, and that’s a crapshoot. I’d give it to the home ice team in that case.

Detroit – we out pointed the Wings this year and generally play them well.

LA – injured, but playing good hockey, and it’s not like the time is void of talent, even with the injury to Anze.

Teams we match up best against: Detroit, LA

Team we’d least like to play: San Jose

Nashville and Anaheim stand somewhere in the middle of that scale for me…

Facing any team in R1

for hockey’s second season is a win

Congrats to the Yotes and their beleaguered (and unappreciated from those who think having a hockey team is their birthright) fans

I’m glad for a Detroilet rematch although not looking forward to their fans. I think the boys can honestly beat them this time. If Playoff Doan stays healthy, this rematch should be filled with hits everywhere.
