Chicago 2, Coyotes 3 (SO). 'nuff said on that. Although it was nice be able walk out of the arena without drunken visiting team fans screaming in my ear and trying to agitate me or anyone else for that matter.
Speaking of the visiting team, The Blackhawks have a tradition during the national anthem. The fans clap, hoot, holler, and scream during the national anthem. This is nothing new.. they've been doing it in the United Center for years. They even did it at Soldier Field during the Chicago Bears playoff run this year. A real Chicago tradition. Now there are those that feel that this tradition is well, rather disrespectful. There are others that feel the exact opposite, and there are those just don't care.
But, this is an accepted tradition in Chicago, so more power to them. But, despite the numerous Chicago jerseys in the stands, last night's game wasn't in United Center or even Chicago for that matter. It was in our house. Not theirs. Yet, there were the Blackhawk fans, hootin and hollerin, all through the anthem.
If that's their tradition in the United Center, fine. But what do you think? Do you think its okay to bring another teams tradition into YOUR house?
Note: Keep in mind I'm just using the above as example, since the issue came up for me last night and not just singling Blackhawk fans and their anthem tradition out.
