too many neutral zone turnovers and blown defensive assignments.
it was an unbelievable 1st period that had the Coyotes dominating but finding themselves down by 2 after the Preds first 3 shots on net. The kid line looked good yet again, and the Coyotes had relentless pressure on Rinne. There was no doubt in my mind they would get back in the game and they did after 1. After that, the Preds looked like the much better team in the 2nd and the Coyotes looked like they forgot what worked in the 1st, as it seemed that they couldn’t get anything going. I know its easier said than done, but they have got to figure how to score on the power play. When you can’t capitalize on those chances, you also give your opponent more confidence. With the D unit hurt I didn’t expect a perfect game, but I didn’t expect to see cross ice neutral zone passes that lead to scoring chances for the Preds, or blown assignments by the forwards in their own zone, leaving their D out to dry. Its one game, but it was an ugly one. Hope they get it figured back out and soon. All of their opponents coming up (and the past two) are chomping at the bit to overtake the Yotes in the standings. This is not the time for a letdown.
