Scott Nichol Suspended Four Games for Elbow on David Schlemko
While watching the Coyotes game live yesterday there really wasn't much indication of anything on this hit that occurred halfway through the third period. The broadcast team did catch it after sometime though and while video has yet to appear online, the hit that Scott Nichol put on David Schlemko was certainly of the headshot variety. Up against the boards Schlemko played the puck out of the defensive zone and then Nichol came in for a hard hit but ended up with his right elbow and his other arm not even making contact with Schlemko's body and going directly at his head. No penalty was called on the play (again) but Schlemko would not return to the game. The league has suspended Nichol for four games and will lose $16,344.08 in salary.
It seems like Schlemko will miss some time though as the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the San Antonio Rampage. Summers has played in every game for the Rampage this season and while he only has a goal and 7 assists he's been solid defensively which the Coyotes could use. Honestly the move kind of surprised me since Maxim Goncharov has also played well but the coaching staff knows what's up.

Refs
Do we need like 4 referees out there instead of 2? One referee should be watching the area around the puck and the other should be watching off the puck. A lot of no calls lately that have resulted in suspensions.
Seems like 75% of these hits around the league aren’t called in game.

The speed of the game makes them incredibly hard to call in-game. Even with slo-mo instant replay you’ve got people disagreeing on them.
