MONTREAL- APRIL 19: Eric Belanger #18 of the Washington Capitals passes the puck through the legs of Andrei Markov #79 of the Montreal Canadiens in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals during the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Bell Centre on April 19, 2010 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Coyotes increased the depth at the Center position today as they signed Eric Belanger to a One-Year, $750,000 deal today. Belanger is now playing with his 6th team in his soon to be 10th NHL season.
Belanger is a career 3rd or 4th liner, but at his low salary it allows for the option to push him to the side should Kyle Turris prove to actually be NHL ready. Also now I hopefully don't have to watch Andrew Ebbett play. Either that or Wolski can move back to wing instead of playing in the middle.
The Center depth chart now looks like Wolski, Hanzal, Fiddler, Belanger, Ebbett and Turris. Could be a heck of a lot worse.
