Derek Morris re-signs with Phoenix Coyotes - 4 Year Deal worth 11 Million
At least we'll have some defense in the desert as the Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Derek Morris to a 4 Year deal. The deal is worth 2.25 Million a season which isn't a bad price for DMo in my opinion. He may not be the best defenseman out there, but he wants to be in Phoenux and didn't cost a ton. His signing though only happened because the Michalek deal couldn't get done. Seems like it was an either/or type of thing but I'm happy with the deal if we couldn't get Z to hang around.

Morris
Needs to be a 20 goal D-man. He has the shot. Needs to use it more.

Happy to have D-Mo back, but bummed to lose Michalek. It’s always especially hard to lose a player that you’ve watched develop. Starting to get worried about the blue line, not a lot of depth there, and we’re going to need someone to pick up the slack when Jovo has one of his patented defensive zone turnovers.
yeah, who's
gonna play diaper for jovo….Z did that so well…..aucoin?? demo?? don’t think so…yandle??? having jovo and yandle on the ice at the same time is like giving two eight year olds on a sugar rush a can of gas and some matches and telling them to go outside and play…..lol….
ray whitney
to the yotes, 3 mil per, 2 years….recorded 21/37/58 in 80 games with the canes last year….not a bad player, little long in the tooth(37) but i remember him with san jose in the 1991/92 season…
