GLENDALE, AZ - APRIL 27: Derek Morris #53 and Adrian Aucoin #33 of the Phoenix Coyotes warm up before Game Seven of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Detroit Red Wings during the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Jobing.com Arena on April 27, 2010 in Glendale, Arizona. At least we'll have some defense in the desert as the Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Derek Morris to a 4 Year deal. The deal is worth 2.25 Million a season which isn't a bad price for DMo in my opinion. He may not be the best defenseman out there, but he wants to be in Phoenux and didn't cost a ton. His signing though only happened because the Michalek deal couldn't get done. Seems like it was an either/or type of thing but I'm happy with the deal if we couldn't get Z to hang around.
