After trading down to 27th, the Coyotes pull a sneaky move by drafting Niagara Ice Dogs goalie, Mark Visentin. The Coyotes also swapped another pic with Montreal, acquiring a second rounder.

Don’t get this?
Ilya Bryzgalov
Jason LaBarbera
Al Montoya
Josh Tordjman
Joel Gistedt
Mike Lee
Miika Wiikman
Why did we use a first round pick on another goalie?
Sweater-jabs for everyone!
I think Visenstin's youth is tha main factor
He may or may not be the future of the Coyotes goaltending, but he’s got plenty of time to prepare. If Bryz keeps playing the way he has been, he’ll be due a monster pay raise, a la Nabokov in San Jose. At that point, we’ll probably have to let Bryz go to the highest bidder. LaBarbera is expendable, but by no means a no. 1 goalie. I like Montoya, but he’s green as well. He’s an injury backup plan at this point, even though he’s showed he’s ready for the big show.
Visentin is a bit of a head scratcher, but how can you not trust Don Maloney at this point?

sorry, link,
but i think that pick was a stretch…he would probably have been available in the 37th or even the 57th spot, and emmerson etem was still on the board…i’m disappointed in GMDM, and i hope i’m seriously wrong about this….
And with the 138th pick...
They get ANOTHER goalie?!?
What. The. Hell.
Louis Domingue
