Republic Reporting Ice Edge Holdings has Submitted Proof of Financing
Rebekah L. Sanders of the Arizona Republic is reporting via Twitter that Ice Edge Holdings has submitted proof of financing to the City of Glendale. The group had until tomorrow to come up with the financing terms to present to the city, but a spokesman for the group said that it has already been done.
UPDATE: Ice Edge PR Representative Robert Johnson (of HighGround Public Affairs Consultants) sent this along...
Ice Edge Holdings has submitted the appropriate documentation per the requirement of the Memorandum of Understanding passed by the City Council last week, and now will begin its work with the City of Glendale to achieve expeditious completion of the Arena Management Use Lease Agreement (AMULA).
Ice Edge Holdings also will continue to work closely with the current owners of the Coyotes, the National Hockey League, to complete the purchase of the team. Ice Edge officials outlined their plans to the League earlier this week in New York City. The League has indicated it is comfortable with the timeline as currently outlined and has committed to work with Ice Edge to move this process forward, ensuring a long-term home for the Coyotes in Arizona.

Thank god
Never doubted them for a minute.
There are two coyotes inside every fan, a good one and a bad one, so which coyote do you feed?

Seriously...
This is great news, made only better by the confirmation that the timeline that they are working on is what the NHL is looking for. Let’s just hope we keep getting these types of updates from Ice Edge!

This just made my morning.
This is awesome on so many levels for the simple reason that we’re one step closer to having some owners for this tea,.
And it gave me an excuse to bust out the dancing cat and wookie guitar gifs.

Thanks…it’s just another step in this inordinately long process. I hope the next 10-15 steps aren’t as arduous or take as long…but I have a feeling they might. If the team can be sold before September 1, I’ll call that a success.

IF winnipeg
is such a hockey hotbed and full of hardcore hockey fans, then why have two franchises left the ‘peg behind…..yeah, the Jets left in 96, but the WHL winnipeg warriors left in 1961 after only 6 years(founded 1955)….and moved to california…..lol….just sayin’….
Uhhhhhhhh
The Phoenix RoadRunners folded from the same league if you’re going to use that to determine a fan base.
yeah, but the
roadrunners played in a town with an NHL franchise……

The NHL was in Phoenix in the 70s? News to me or you’re mixing up the 5 different times the RoadRunners have folded. The point was my comparison was as idiotic as yours.
lemme see...
the warriors started in 1955, had a successful first season, but then went down the tubes, the fans stopped coming out, the travel and tv conflict with cbc hockey games got too much, and they moved to the bay area and became the california seals in 1961….fact…whats idiotic about that….
by goldenbear65 on Jun 22, 2010 10:28 AM MST up reply actions
Not disputing your facts, but comparing the 1960’s circumstances to more modern fan support is idiotic.
uhhhhhh, you
probably didn’t read a lot of the posts here and some other coyote sites around the blogosphere about how 1)hockey is canada’s game, 2) canadians are fanatic about hockey, always have always will be & 3) how only canadians can support their hockey teams through thick and thin…..i just found it amusing that winnipeg had two teams leave…no where in the viscious attacks on the coyotes/their fans did anyone say fan support was recent…..it was an always and a given…period…so, perhaps, idiotic is a poor choice of words….

Wow was that hard to read.
I won’t defend others around the ‘blogopshere’.
I am pointing out that if we use your logic, Arizona doesn’t deserve a hockey team either because the RoadRunners folded 5 times.
nowhere did
i say winnipeg didn’t deserve a hockey team…i only pointed out, mostly to those who went through all the flame wars since last may when moyes put the coyotes into bankruptcy, that give all the statements from canadian fans, including some winnipegers, i found it amusing that they had lost 2 teams to what boiled down to a lack of support so the teams couldn’t make money and left….that was all…the irony of it amused me…if you fiind that “idiotic”, so be it….the good thing about travis is that he let’s us all voice our opinions without allowing personal attacks….and i’m not really a big minor league hockey fan…so the various incarnations of the roadrunners(whl, echl, who, wcic, nahl, whatever,,,) doesn’t really concern me…i just found the situation with the winnipeg warriors amusing after all the abuse we coyote fans have had to put up with the last year or so…

and yeah,
the canadians all get their shorts in a twist about the nordiques and jets moving to the US, but what about the flames…nobody down here curses calgary tor stealing the atlanta flames franchise(and they even kept the same nickname)
