So at this point do we just throw our collective hands up and just ask anyone in Glendale if they have any clue at all what they're freakin doing? Reports coming from ESPN and elsewhere now have the City of Glendale's perfect little plan to get buddy Reinsdorf installed to run the Coyotes (The deal was actually total crap) has fallen apart. AND They've crawled back on their hands and knees back to Ice Edge Holdings to try and get a deal hammered out.
Basically we can all go back to the Council meeting where they threw out the Ice Edge bid on one line of text but let ReinsDufus' offer go through even though there were already objections by the Goldwater institute and CoG was giving away the farm for it. What a freakin boneheaded move that was just to come back to the same place a month later.
Daryl Jones of IEH has already stated via twitter that "Ice Edge is not confirming or denying the reports tonight, but we are confirming our bid for Man U has been dropped." AKA, yeah they're probably back in the mix.
AND THAT'S A GOOD THING! They're the guys the fans wanted all along even if the city didn't. They showed up to games, interacted with fans, talked directly to the fanbase and did all the things that a new owner here is going to need to so to make this thing work. I'm sure we'll get 73 different version of what's really going on during the day today, but as of right now I'm glad to have the guys back in it.

Ice Edge was the better option from the beginning. I called this from miles away, I knew there was something fishy about the way they voted JR right in and IEH got denied.
Did I not call this the night of the vote?? My friend says I did.
The CoG screwed the pooch on this one pretty badly. Glad that the Ice Edge guys appear back in it, but not looking forward to another summer of dealing with this crap.
Get it done CoG. Get it done yesterday. Bastards.

A group gets rejected in favor of other groups for something like this, you often see them moving on completely. Maybe they’ll be able to extract a better deal with Glendale, both for themselves, and for the Coyotes as a franchise, because of these shenanigans?

I have a strong feeling Ice Edge will buy the team
I always thought that Ice Edge was a better pick to own the Coyotes. They seem to be very close to the fans, and their deal doesn’t look to have as many legal issues tied to it relative to Reinsdorf’s deal.

This is so freaking ridiculous. I wasn’t too sure about the Reinsdorf deal, but I was at least feeling better that the team would be here next season. I am so confused by all this and more than a bit upset at CoG.
It always seemed to me like Ice Edge was more interested in keeping the team here. They did reach out to the fans. But, I am still a little wary that they may eventually try to move the team, too. Since I thought this of both proposals, I always preferred the Ice Edge guys.
Ugh.
What happened with Reinsdorf's "done deal"?
