Something I'm not too happy about
Well, Glendale approved a plan proposed by the NHL to pay for the losses of the Coyotes(I'm probably wrong here, someone help me out?). Quick question, does that guarantee that the Coyotes aren't moving, or does that just raise the possibility that they aren't?
Anyways, back to why I'm writing this. I'm not happy that whoever buys the Coyotes, Ice Edge or Jerry Reinsdorf, will change its name from Phoenix Coyotes to Glendale/Arizona Coyotes. I don't see the point. I think the name proposals are just to please the Glendale City Council. Phoenix is a good city name for the Coyotes, because most people either live in Phoenix, or the Phoenix Metro Area. Plus, a lot of Arizonans think of themselves as Phoenicians. I can understand where the Arizona name is going, but still, it's nice to have at least one or two teams with Phoenix in their name. We've already got the Cardinals and Dbacks for the whole Arizona thing. Now we'll only be left with the Suns.
Anyways, I just thought I'd post this and see what all of you think. I hope that they'll keep the name Phoenix, but if not, then I guess I want them to name it Arizona Coyotes or something like that. Fingers crossed that they keep the name!

Two points...
First, the resolution passed last night guarantees that Glendale will pay the NHL for operating the team if a new owner is not found after the summer. This money is capped at a maximum of $25 million. If they sell to a new owner, no money from Glendale. What this means is that it is highly, highly unlikely that the team is moving for the 2010-2011 season (Bill Daly basically said that while making the press rounds as well).
Second, both MoUs had proposals to change the name, but they require the approval of the NHL and Board of Governors, so neither are a slam dunk. I’m of a mixed opinion on the name change. On one hand, I like the name “Phoenix Coyotes” – it’s familiar, and while perhaps not entirely accurate, it gets the job done (heck, the NY Giants and NY Jets play in East Rutherford, NJ, but they haven’t changed). On the other hand, changing the name will/may allow them to change the brand a bit. Sort of like a reboot of the franchise. There’s not a lot of history that we’re holding onto (although we’ve already had our fair share of jerseys for 13 short years in the desert). But here’s the opportunity to do it again…bring in a sand-colored jersey we’ve been clamoring for, fix the problems with the third jersey, whatever. I think in the end, it’s not going to make a big deal of difference.

(Oh, and go Philly teams as well!)
I want a black with maroon/sand that's like the Thrashers/ All Star( montreal) jerseys
make it say ZONA or ARIZONA going down the sleeve, and shouler patches galore.

Name change or not -
Originally the team was in Phoenix. They are no longer there. The city of Glendale has shown their committment to bring the team to Glendale by building the new arena for them and now to keep them here. The fan base comes from all over the valley and AZ. The “city of Phoenix” as in government, isn’t contributing anything that I am aware of to the ongoing operation of this team or in keeping it here. They are a just a recognizable location when people think AZ. Glendale should reap some publicity for their effort but I personally don’t like sound of “Glendale Coyotes” so I would prefer to go with AZ Coyotes. Encompasses everyone locally.
Keep Phoenix
If not Arizona. Glendale sounds bush league to me.
Jersey changes I’d want:
Home: A mirror image of the current thirds – Brick where the black is, black where the brick is. Put the Howling logo on the front.
Away: Same as the home but white/sand for the body and Brick where it is currently.
Third: Recolor of the original Jerseys to brick, sand and black. Put the Paw Print logo on the chest for the old school look, with howler on the shoulders. Either that or wear the old jets home jerseys evil smirk

It will never be Glendale Coyotes
It just doesn’t fit. It’s either going to stay the Phx Coyotes which I doubt, or the Az Coyotes. I’ll admit Glendale is doing alot to keep this team and I am grateful for it. But when people think of Az they think Phx, not Glendale.
There are two coyotes inside every fan, a good one and a bad one, so which coyote do you feed?
