Coyote Tracks - TGIF April 9 Edition

Well, that was more of the same from the Coyotes, huh?  Spot the other team a 2 goal lead, thrilling third period comeback, Adrian Aucoin game winner in the shootout after Radim Vrbata kept it alive on the final shot for the original shooters.  Ho-hum, Coyotes get their 50th win of the season and get up to 106 points.  LA moves into a tie with Detroit and Nashville for the 5th spotwith 98 points.  Big race to the finish coming up.

And the big news during the game courtesy of @TheVoiceDS was that Ice Edge and Glendale have reached an agreement to put to a public vote...and everything is happening next Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00.

Suns, Coyotes, D-backs mark similar attendance - Phoenix Business Journal:
All three Phoenix teams had very similar attendance numbers on Wednesday night...for the Suns and Coyotes this meant sell-outs; for the D-backs, 36% full.  Granted, all the fans were at the Suns and Coyotes games...yeah, that's it...

'Coyotes Playoff Classics' debuts this afternoon to get fans ready for the WhiteOut
Replay of first-ever Coyotes WhiteOut game against Anaheim in 1997 airs prior to Coyotes-Kings telecast from Los Angeles.  I know a lot of folks were watching this before the Kings game last night...FSAZ is really getting us ready for the playoffs...good times.

Home Ice Clinched! But that power play…. – Coyotes 5 – Predators 2 | Fanster.com - All Sports. All Phoenix.
The recap is a bit outdated, but the Power Play woes continued last night...it really has looked decent at time (throughout the Nashville game they were getting tons of chances), but they need to put some of those chances in the net.

I can't really call this whimsy, but I'm sure everyone reading here will get a laugh about the Olli Jokinen trades (albeit there is that whole Daymond Langkow issue...).

One more regular season game to go.  Whiteout next week!!!

IEH v Reinsdorf

What are the general feelings of fans here? 6 of one, half a dozen of the other?

Anyone who attempts to generate random numbers by deterministic means is, of course, living in a state of sin.

I think that the IEH guys seem like they might make more passionate owners of the team, Reinsdorf would view them more as an investment. Whether either would be “better” for the team, I don’t know. I don’t like the fact that Reinsdorf only seems interested if he has an out clause. I’d like to see him commit to the market and making it work here. But 5-6 years is a better commitment than anything we absolutely have on the table right now. Reinsdorf is also a proven winner with the White Sox and Bulls…so there’s that.

IEH

They seem to be fan focused and pretty open about things. Also making fools of Shoalts and Reznik was hilarious. I also like that they’re actually here, coming to games and talking to people. Reinsdorf is a good owner I suppose, but hasn’t really done much outreach.

IEH

I agree with what both you saying about IEH, more passionate and fan focused. They look at things from the fans point of view, as opposed to Reinsdorfs investment focus. Just wondering who has been wearing the Jovo’s “A” in the last couple of games? I’ve been out of it with school to barely be able to watch the games lately. I did catch the third period last night and OTSO which well I wish they would kinda take care of these guys in regulation, but glad they came back and gave it to them.

Thanks for posting. Still looking for a copy of the actual MoU that the City of Glendale said would be available at 3. I still have yet to see a copy.

No "out clause"

Grant Woods, a former Arizona attorney general who has represented Ice Edge in talks with the city the last three weeks, said its agreement contains no ‘’out clause’’ that would allow the franchise to move. There have been several reports that Reinsdorf would seek an out clause that could be exercised if certain financial benchmarks aren’t met.

That Minnesota Wild written article is a breath of fresh air.

’Bout time someone else besides us sees Shoalts for the douchebag he really is.
