Phoenix Coyotes are the 4 seed in the Western Conference! Home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs...really can't complain about anything from last night's game (aside from that goal 12 seconds in that I missed while getting my new Keith Yandle jersey customized for the playoffs). It would've been nice for the Columbus Blue Jackets to hold on to their 2-1 lead against Detroit, but what can you do. The Red Wings and Predators are tied in 5th place with Detroit having a game in hand. LA is also in the running for the #5 seed. Coyotes will get a shot at the Kings tomorrow night in LA and then the last game of the season against the Sharks in San Jose.
As for other points of note from last night, Shane Doan got the monkey off his back with a gritty goal late in the 3rd - driving to the net, putting in the rebounds....this is what is going to get things done come the playoffs. Wojtek Wolski scored a very pretty goal when he cherry picked a pass from Keith Yandle and fought off the Nashville defender to lift one over Pekka Rinne...Taylor Pyatt, Lauri Korpikoski and Petteri Nokelainen had the other goals for the Coyotes.
LAST NIGHT'S NHL SCORES: NSH 2 - PHX 5; TOR 1 - NYR 5; CLS 3 - DET 4; STL 5 - CHI 6; COL 4 - EDM 5 (OT)
