Coyotes Trade Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter to Colorado for Wojtek Wolski

Adrian Dater and TSN are now reporting that the Coyotes have traded Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter to the Colorado Avalanche for Wojtek Wolski. Mueller was having issues finding his game over the the last season and change and Porter, a former Hobey Baker winner, hadn't been able to stick on the team yet. That said, he's one of the team's top prospects and is a big price to pay for Wolski.

Wolski wasn't fitting in with the new coaching system in Colorado, but was producing goals and assists. In fact he's on pace to have his best season in the NHL yet. I don't totally understand the move from the Avs' perspective though.  I mean Mueller has a ton of potential that he just hasn't realized, but Wolski is producing now. Oh well.

I am sorry to see Mueller moved, despite his troubles. While I understand it since he just wasn't producing, it's always hard to see young guys on the team dealt when you know they have potential.

A look at the numbers after the jump.
