Coyotes Clinch Playoff Berth with Flames Loss in Boston

Stay connected for news and updates

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WE'RE IN!!!

Coyotes fans can rest easy when walking into Jobing.com Arena tonight as, no matter what, the Coyotes have now clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2002. The Flames just couldn't get anything going against the Bruins' Tim Thomas, losing 5-0, and barring some sort of crazy failure by the 7 or 8 seeded Avalanche and Red Wings, the Flames likely won't even make the postseason now. (Which means they can work on making that first round pick we have as early in the draft as possible :) )

While the playoffs are a lock it's all about locking down home ice at this point with 7 points separating us and the Nashville Predators who are currently 5th and 8 points separate us from the Kings who have 2 games in hand on us. We're still only 2 points back of the Sharks as well for the Pacific Division lead so a lot could happen in these last few games of the year.

One thing is for sure. It's a great time to be a Phoenix Coyotes fan! AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
