Phoenix Coyotes at Dallas Stars - Game #73 Preview - Can We Be the Best in the Pac?

Once again we get Dallas on the second game of a back to back. Who the hell makes this schedule? I have no idea. Pretty sure that this is the fourth time that Dallas gets us on the 2nd game of one though. pretty weak. Anyhow, It should be a good one tonight as the Coyotes are on a roll having won the last 8 straight games. Should Phoenix Win tonight they could take the Pacific division lead depending on what happens in the San Jose - Edmonton game. The last time we faced the Stars you might remember how James Neal hit Petr Prucha concussing him, or Marty Turco punching Shane Doan while he was down. It'll be interesting to see if the team remembers or if they go out looking more to punish them on the scoreboard.

Dallas won yesterday as well coming back to beat the Ottawa Senators. Jason Spezza had a hat trick against Kari Lehtonen, but that wasn't enough as Pascal Leclaire was just awful giving up 4 goals on 19 shots. Dallas is 6 points back of making the playoffs and every point is important to them right now. They'll come out hungry and we're going to need to jump all over them.

Phoenix of course won an exciting game that had a little of everything. Pretty goals, dirty goal, ugly goals, big saves, penalty shots, called back goals and a shootout. I'm not sure you could really ask for much more in a single game from two teams. Lee Stempniak continued his hot streak and pretty much everyone looked good. We just continue to find new and exciting ways to win games though it'd be better if we could do it without going to the shootout...

STARTING GOALIES

GP MIN W L EGA GA GAA SA SV SV% SO
2009 - Jason LaBarbera 14 739 6 4 27 2.19 372 345 .927 0

With us riding Bryzgalov most of the time lately he could use a bit of a break. LaBarbera has been solid when he knows he's getting the call and should do just fine tonight. If the Coyotes can keep scoring like they've finally discovered they can, then we should be good on the back end.

GP MIN W L EGA GA GAA SA SV SV% SO
2009 - Marty Turco           49 2838 20 19 132 2.79 1480 1348 .911 4

He recently lost the starting job to Kari Lehtonen, but Marty Turco is still a fairly solid goalie. With Dallas also on the back to back he should be between the pipes. Hopefully he knows how to keep his hands to himself this time :P

Once again he keeps his spot because he's just racking up the goals. now 9 goals and 2 assists in 8 games. He can't do if forever, but  man is he playing well right now.

James Neal

#18 / Left Wing / Dallas Stars

What a jerk. Kidding. Kinda. It'll be interesting to see how he plays tonight and if our guys get distracted at all with laying the extra hit on him. It may not have been his fault entirely but you gotta believe that the Coyotes remember what happened before the Olympic break.

Sorry to hear that. Have a good time.

There are two coyotes inside every fan, a good one and a bad one, so which coyote do you feed?
