and the couple prior to that we would let it slip away in the third. This year, with Tipp and King, there seems to be more of a drive put in the team to not let up until the end.

It’s one of the better indian head logos there is. My HS was the Thunderbird chiefs and our logo sucked ass. One logo I don’t like in the NHL is the panthers, let alone the team name, it just sux. I also don’t like the 3rd jersey logo for the yotes, I do like the paw patch tho.

and thats why I like Canadian fans compared to US. They are as die hard as you can get, are loyal to the bone no matter if the team is winning or losing, but most of all you guys show class and will admit when a team just came out on top that night. All the Hawks fans on their thread are bitching right now about bad calls, and we suck and they outplayed us. Thanks Chuck. Nice to know there are still decent die hards out there.

No doubt. We love our hockey up here. And yes we can be nice I guess. We tend to take each other out more with inter-canadian rivalries. You won’t find me on a sens forum congratulating them on anything anytime soon lol. By the way I’ve always thought Shane Doan is the NHL’s hidden gem. That guy is super sick. I hope you guys make a good run in the playoffs. The wolski trade worked out for both teams that was probably the 2nd best deadline deal after the absolute rapage of stempniak for 2 late picks

Yep Maloney did us a solid this year with what we had to work with. I’m just sayin US fans seem to get more BUTTHURT cuz their team lost. As for Doaner, he is one of those guys that leads the team every year, has struggled as of late, but does the thing that you can’t find on stat sheets like dumping the puck in deep, getting in front of the net, and is the best captain in the NHL. Looks after all his guys, and gets all the respect and dignity in return for being such a standup guy. And the things he does for the fans and the community is way beyond what any captain or sports icon should or has to do. Just the kind of guy we are lucky to call Captain Coyote.

I would love more than anything in the world
to even visit Canada. To see a hockey game with others like myself. lol. I drove 5hrs to Dallas when I was stationed in Louisiana to go see the Yotes beat the hell out of the Stars. I told my exfiance that I took leave to see her and that the Yotes game was just a coincidence, lol yea thats why she’s my ex.

lol she wasn’t meant to be if she didn’t understand. The flight can be as cheap as 300 bucks. Montreal is probably a better place to see a game. Toronto is a bit more corporate but I recommend either.

Yea but I’m a disabled Army vet and a student on a fixed income. Lol one day it will happen tho. You need to head down here where it’s nice 9 months out of the year and can wear sandals and shorts lol.

We were supposed to get the 2006 All Stars but thanks to the lockout we never got to see that happen sadly. But we have them in 2011 I think so hopefully that will bring hockey back to the Valley for good to where I can sleep at night. Plus I have a Coyotes tattoo that I’m getting more done on soon, and I don’t wanna have to say “that used to be the Phoenix Coyotes, my fav hockey team.”

We do, got tons of snowbirds, just they are all on a fixed income. I even went to dinner with a couple I met right outside the arena. We all came early to the game to watch the on ice practice before hand, that rarely happens, but went to dinner and talked about how suprised there weren’t more canadians coming to games, and how exciting the games were.

lol we already have the best ticket prices in the NHL. So many deals going on, and there is “We Win, You Win.” If the Coyotes won the game that specific night, and you attended, then you get a voucher to go to a free game. How awesome is that. And people still don’t show up. Guess thats why I"m starting to hate all these fans right now. It’s a love/hate thing. Love them for supporting them now when they need it, but hate them cuz where the hell were they before the Olympic break? Badmouthing my team. Also the bad thing about alot of Az fans is that if a team doesn’t win one or two games they are gone. But when they win 8 they show up saying they were there all along.

Wow you can’t get a ticket for a Leaf game unless you act quick and they average around $115. A 2-1 deal is ridiculous. Scalpers here sell tickets for 300-1000 bucks it’s insane. For the price of a season ticket I could get season tickets in Phoenix plus a mansion and a porsche.

parking right now is free. When Ice Edge buys the team, they are trying to change it to where you pay at least a little, which I don’t mind at all, so it will help pay for the lease of the Arena and during it’s offtime usage.

The Toronto media is still taking shots at Ice edge saying they don’t really have the money for this. I think they’re just hating because of the whole Balsillie fiasco. I would love an NHL team in Hamilton but not at the expense of Phoenix. I hope Ice Edge pulls this through. Jerry Moyes seemed like he was in it as an investment and so he never built a brand there. Ice Edge could hopefully do it

Moyes was an idiot and just doesn’t know anything about hockey. Balsillie is a douche in my eyes by going through a backend legal route to take over a franchise by breaking the rules. I’m all for Canada having another hockey team, shit you guys deserve it, best hockey players in the world, but take over a franchise the right way, and in a state that has more than one or two, like the failing Islanders, Panthers, or one of the 3 teams that Cali has.

Yeah I agree with you. I don’t really want to take any more teams away. Maybe Atlanta I cant see them being too popular there but again I hate real hockey fans losing their teams. I think Canada could easily support 5-6 more teams but then you’re diluting the league even more. I’m torn on the issue

Yea I don’t like seeing that either, but as long as they don’t take my team I’m fine with it. Plus if you add 5-6 more teams into the NHL, you gotta look at schedules and who will play, where the AHL teams are compared to the parent team. I agree that some places shouldn’t have more than one hockey team cuz look at that states population. Whats canada’s population? thats why we have more teams, but we don’t need them all some places like florida which is an iffy place as it is with one, it being a hurricane infested, hot humid place, has two teams. Sorry I ranted there don’t even know what I was saying lol

lol it’s ok I agree with you. Canada has 35 million people. Toronto has 6 of that Montreal about 4 and Vancouver about 2.5. But it’s so hockey crazy here that Toronto could easily support 2 more teams and montreal too. Hamilton could and so could Winnipeg and Quebec City. But it’ll never happen. I question 2 teams in Florida though and 2 teams in Ontario. 3 teams in NY and 1 team in Quebec. Makes no sense to me really.

I like the sport
but it is not my passion (hint: my screen name should give that away). I go to what i can. I went to Roadrunner games years ago as a kid at the Madhouse on McDowell. I’ve gone to a couple games most years, depending on money as i is a college student. I would rather have the casual fan stay away, but in this case, that would do more harm than the satisfaction of banning them would bring.

It’s doesn’t have to be your passion, but at least you support the team. There are so many out there that jump on the bandwagon when they are winning but during a bad stretch, which everyteam goes through every season, they get dropped like a bad habit.

I was kind of disappointed that Gretzky couldn’t do better there. He’s only the god of hockey in Canada. I don’t think the owners did a good enough job of making people realize who Gretzky was. I guess it’s like dropping some Cricket superstar in the middle of Mexico and expecting people to swoon

Yea but Gretzky was a partial owner, thats how he kept the job as long as he did. Used his financial interest in the team to get an outrageous contract, with an ungodly sum of money for a starting coach. I know he is the God of Hockey and will always love him for that, but he kept the coaching job too long, because Moyes was milking the franchise of all it’s money before he undermined the NHL and sold it to Balsillie.

yeah Gretzky’s salary was moronic. I forgot he was part owner. He’s also a mediocre front office guy/coach. I remeber when Toronto got the raptors and we got Isaiah Thomas as our first GM/Pres they built the brand of him being an NBA legend and it drew people to see what the hype was all about. I know hockey in general is a more humble sport but they shoulda really milked the Gretzky name a whole lot more and built more hype. You also had Tkatchuk one of the all time great American players. That needed to be milked

Oh it was, my first coyotes tshit was a whiteout tshirt a “keith tkachuckin, puck shootin, die hard, red ice, kinda fan.” or something along that lol. It’s just he didn’t agree with his contract, which happens every year, and because Tkachuck didn’t stay we lost Roenick. He didn’t want to be on the team if Tkachuck wasn’t gonna be here.

Oh buddy I pine for that climate. Our winter blows. February is like one long grey dusk. I think the 3 months you think is bad weather i will probably wear shorts. When we get a “hot” day in mid winter when it’s like 38 we wear our spring hoodies. We think that’s warm lol.

I can handle that weather lol, I lived in Korea for over a year it gets ungodly cold over there except no snow. I’d love to go there for a game, snowboard for the first time, and see what real snow looks like. Here in Az it’s ridiculous what we think is real snow. Also I don’t think you’ll be able to handle the 115 degree temps, lol I can and like it, get to drive with my windows down. But not many people can handle it, specially arizonans. All they do is stay inside the whole time with air conditioning blasted.

Surprisingly our summer gets that hot too. We have disgusting humid nastyness in the summer. You can hardly breathe sometimes.Not 115 but maybe 100 with 100% humidity it feels like you’re breathing in boiling water. Our best climate is the early fall but that lasts about 12 days before the winter smashes in.

I was stationed in Louisiana, I know exactly what you mean. The mosquitos are like bats lol, and as soon as you go outside you feel like you have to take a shower again. And when you go and run it takes like 20ft before you gasping for air lol.

Lets take this town by OAR after the Coyotes win just gives me hope that the people here in Az will get it, about what we have in this team. Once they went through all this stuff they became the peoples team. We’ve fought to keep them here and will keep doing it be it blood sweat or tears. I will do whatever it takes to keep a part of my livelyhood here in the valley. My first hockey game I ever went to was in the 7th grade, and that is the happiest childhood memory I have. Watching both teams clear the bench to the biggest fight I’ve still ever seen in a hockey game. They beat the blues, and after that I’ve been hooked ever since. I bought a fitted hat that night, and even today still wear it. It’s over 13 years old, and I’ll do anything to give my nephews, and future kids that same experience.
