Coyote Tracks - TGIF March 12 Edition

Nothing to see here folks...no, seriously, there's almost nothing to see here.  Coyotes don't play until tomorrow night in Carolina against the Hurricanes as they start a big four game road trip (as discussed yesterday a little).  We'll have more about each game as they come up.  But it's a seriously slow day for news, so let's just jump into he little stuff we got to discuss...

LAST NIGHT'S NHL SCORES:  BOS 5 - PHL 1; PIT 3 - CAR 4 (OT); EDM 4 - MTL 5 (SO); STL 2 - NYI 1 (SO); TB 3 - TOR 4 (OT); ATL 1 - CLS 2; MIN 1 - DET 5; FLA 0 - COL 3; OTT 0 - CGY 2; NSH 5 - SJ 8

Unbelievably, almost every one of these games went against the way the Coyotes would like them to...jeez.  C'mon eastern conference teams, beat your western conference brethren (except for the Coyotes, of course).

Phoenix Coyotes' Derek Morris, Keith Yandle reunited on blue line
I think they are now roomates too, if I recall correctly...

Roundup: Blind-side hit rule reveals hockey’s other headaches - Puck Daddy - NHL Blog - Yahoo! Sports
A comprehensive collection of thoughts on the NHL's proposed blind-side hit rule...as we've been saying a lot, it looks like it might create more questions than it solves...

Will President Obama Attend a Caps Game & Barack The Red?
I know that Senator McCain has been pimping the Coyotes on his twitter feed throughout the year (and apparently he's come to some games, not that I've seen him)...hopefully the First Fan will make an appearance to see what is the dominant force in the NHL this season.

Enjoy the two games this weekend...I'll be back with more links on Monday!  See you in the comments...

Howdy Yotes fans

Yes, the Yotes are my second favorite team, behind the Canes. If the Canes don’t make it, go Yotes.

If the Canes make it, I hope it’s decided in Game 7 Triple OT…..

If the guys and gals who brought you the financial meltdown deserve big bonuses, where do I sign up?

Yeah, gotta love the run that the Canes have gone on this second half. Good luck to you guys sneaking into the playoffs…and heck, as long as we win the game, I don’t mind it going to OT/SO Saturday night :-)

If the Canes had more points and were in the playoffs already.....

and the Yotes needed help, an OT loss to the Yotes wouldn’t be bad.

So I hope you can understand that I’m hoping for an OT win from the Canes.

Road trip!

I’m flying out to Raleigh tonight, to watch the Yotes @ Canes, then driving down to ATL for the Trashers game!

Excellent – make sure to point out how unknowledgeable they are and all the other BS they say about Coyotes fans. I will definitely follow to get updates.

Actually, go to Canes Country.

Many Canes fans understand the plight of the Yote fan.

“Non-traditional market”

“Hockey needs to be in Canada/Northern and NE US”

If any of you read my comments on the “From the Rink”, stuff at “The Globe and Mail”, “TSN”, “CBC”, other team websites and blogs, you’ll know that I love telling the self titled “Hockey Purists” where they can shove their stick.

If you are, look me up.

I’ll be there at the game.

We’ll make it interesting. The team that scores, that fan has to buy the other non-scoring team’s fan the beer.

Actually on the Morris/Yandle situation. Morris is actually living in the guest room, since he rented it to Yandle at the beginning of the year. And at the carnival Morris has said that as long as Yandle keeps playing as well as he has, he can keep the room. I think he was really glad to come back to the desert and wants to stay here a long time. Welcome back DMo

Yeah, I think the article even talks about it, but I was too tired last night to give it a good read. It is funny if Morris is staying in the guest room, though. Yandle should negotiate a decrease in his rent payments for losing that space…

And definitely DMo wants to stay. He never wanted to leave last year, but the finances just didn’t work out. Not sure it will be much better this year, but hopefully IEH will come through and make this happen. We’ve got a lot of deals we need to get done – Z, Lombo and Stempniak are all UFAs; Wolski, Hanzal and Upshall are all RFAs – and there are a bunch of the role players as well that all deserve bumps in salary…
